I have gotten a wordpress theme which I ordered and paid for (no baby themes in the free catagory suited what I wanted)
I've uploaded the theme to my cpanel into the correct folder etc and the theme shows up in my wordpress admin.

Trouble is the graphics aren't all showing up and I'm not sure what I need to do next.

Tried putting url's of my photo bucket account for the graphics but word press won't allow me to edit the theme.

What makes you think I'm new to this. :0

Help would be much appreciated as I'm about to get carted off by the guys in white coats.
Yes, I uploaded all the files that came in the zip folder. I just uploaded them in the same folder that they come out of the zip in though. Am I supposed to upload them individually or doe's it not matter.

The graphics I'm trying to add to the theme are graphics that go with it.

and had the banner changed. the banner is the main graphic that shows up at the moment, along with the background but about 6 other little bullets and small banner is missing although they are in the file I received.

I'm not trying to edit in order to change it, just to have it looking as it should.

I'm not having much luck with word press at all. grrrrrr!
No! sorry, header isn't showing up, in fact no graphics that should be are showing up.

Not being able to edit the theme sounds like a permissions issue. Check that the web server has permission to write to the files and folders which contain your theme files, i.e. wp-content/themes and sub-folders.

By graphics do you mean the theme's graphics or your content graphics? Did you upload all the files that came with the theme?

This is driving me nuts. I'm a beginner with WordPress and can't figure out why the text is appearing below the image. I've tried images of different sizes and even copying code from people using the same template. Nothing is fixing it! Any ideas?

I don't know how thing work in wordpress, but I do know that if you create a text box, or some other layout feature that will allow you to add the image as a background, you will be able to type anywhere in the box.

I would like to design a nice blog on Wordpress. I understand that I will need to upgrade to their premium version to get more features and options. That’s ok with me. What web techniques (things like CSS, HTML, etc..) should I need to design a nice blog? I have been working with HTML in Dreamweaver in designing a few websites but that was a “long” time ago! I haven’t kept paced with new things like XML, CSS, etc.. Do I need to learn those things? Also, do I still design the whole thing (say, using Dreamweaver) on my local machine and then upload it on Wordpress website? Or are blogs working a different way?

You will need to understand php to design a wordpress theme.

There are a lot of free themes available that look very much like that one. I suggest you find one that is almost exactly what you need and customize it to suit your needs.

Does any know where I can find free wordpress themes that don't look like the usual blog themes. Are there any nice professional looking ones and ones that a group of designers and photographers could use?

I really like the Halo theme apart from the colours when you press the xbox 30 guide button.

Is there a way to keep the background of the tabs Halo theme but when I press the Xbox 360 guide button have the default one?

Unzip the file. Put the contents in the theme directory on the server.

I using Wordpress for my blog. In the Header i lay the Category Menu.

I want when click in a category, In a right Bar will display a list link of all post in that category. A link has a icon which i choose when i write that post.

Please tell me how to do it? Tell me a plugin for that or Code of the bar which i need add to my site?( and how editing themes for that, editing PHP file and Css?).

I'm searching for a theme and few sites have ones that I like. I like more modern, and sleek themes. Can someone five me a link to where I can find some good themes? Thanks!

I would recommend starting on the WordPress site:

They are categorized by layout style.

If you look, the name of the theme will often be listed somewhere on the blog page. You can then search on the name to find the site where you can download the theme. Be careful though, some free themes can contain extra code that you don't want running on your web site.

I just downloaded a theme, but the problem is the calendar inside the sidebar doesn't show like the rest of the sidebar. See the screenshot:

The background doesn't show and there is no left or bottom margin/padding/whatever you call it!

Is this a error thing or is it just not styled like the others? Where and how can I change it? I can't find anything about the calendar inside the css or sidebar files. Help!

This is a very simple issue. Actually you are using standard calendar widget but some different theme in which sidebar width is much more then this calendar.

You can change your the to make it fit or if you are comfortable at CSS you can change the width of sidebar.
