I googeled and found some great WordPress themes.All tent to say they are "FREE!" but when i try to upload the css, it says that i must download something to save it.Why the heck is it so?If they say they are free…That most make it a fraud,huh?
And don’t tell me that i must use the built in 32 Wordpress themes,as i hate them.

If you are using wordpress.com – hosted WordPress solution then you can not install a theme that you download. You may only install themes that you find on wordpress.com.

On the other hand you are able to customize the CSS if you pay for the service on wordpress.com.

They provide a free platform for blogging and are entitled to make some money out of the service.

If you want to be able to download any theme and use it as you like you might consider getting a self hosted WordPress installation on your own webhost. It cost a little more, but allows full customization of themes, plugins and anything else.

It is very easy to install yourself on most webhost’s if you want to do it yourself or use the free service below to get started.

Do you use Twitter? If so, there is a site called TweetWorks where we have a wordpress group (called AllThingsWordpress), if you asked the same question there, all the bloggers out there would recommend their fave magazine-style wordpress theme. http://tweetworks.com

The previous poster is right though, you can spend wayyyyyyy too much time browsing through the various magazine style wordpress themes, but as a wordpress lover, I absolutely love finding new themes to post to my site and to use on my sites.

Recently I installed chameleontom plugin for firefox so i can change my facebook theme…
while i was installing it….as always… i wasnt watching what i am pressing eg. next,next,i agree etc…
so i instaled some toolbar and plugin…and i made chameleonsearch.com to be my default search engine…
but its not installed on the pc… i cant remove it …
when i type … eg. translate in the url bar…chameleonsearch.com search for that word but before google was searching for it and it automatically enter into translate.google.com .. but now it wont ((
PLS if u know how to change this,answer PLS ))

I believe that the free tool Spybot Search and destroy will remove chameleon search

Could you reword your question? I don’t really understand what you’re trying to ask.
If you’re asking how to use that wordpress theme, upload it in the Wp-content>themes folder. Go to your dashboard, click on appearance then activate your theme.

Is there a free internet service (that wrks on Macs) that allows you to build/design a website and offers free hosting and perhaps a free domain name? I tried WordPress but it’s too complicated.

It is complicated because it is free. Try www.crazypromotion.info and get a cheap hosting plan (less than $5 a year). Any host should work with Macs.

I am a newbie to web design, and I am looking for a Wordpress theme that has a scrolling photo gallery, similar to this site: www.athleta.com.
Any suggestions?

I’m working on building a site right now (personal, blogging site) and want to use Wordpress for posting the blogs. I also want to have a forum on my site, but the problem is that I want to be able to let users create a single login which will work for both Wordpress and the forum without having to register twice.

I saw a couple Wordpress-specific forum plugins on the Wordpress page but I’m weary since the authors of them don’t seem to keep up to date with Wordpress releases. I’d like to use something like phpbb or vBulletin, but am not committed to any specific one. The only thing I do need to use is Wordpress.

Is there a script or something that allows a single login to be shared with Wordpress/a forum that works flawlessly? If someone changes their password, will it update itself to continue to work?

I’d like to use a free forum, but can go up to $200 if need be. Features aren’t terribly important to me, all I really need is rss, avatars, unlimited sub-forums, and basic styling.

With PHPBB you could always do your own scripting to do what you want.

I just got Wordpress, and I am trying to edit my templates; however, when I go to edit them there is no button to save what I’ve edited. I had my website host change the permissions to 755 and still no luck. If someone has any idea what could be wrong, please don’t hesitate to put it down. Thanks.

Maybe the problem is not with your permissions but with the template itself. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of Wordpress templates out there. Try a different template and see if you can change and save those changes. If you can the problem is probably the template itself. If it isn’t go back to your host and ask them to check your permissions again.

And how different is it from designing an HTML/CSS website template?

It’s different. How different? If you’re experienced, it’s not much different. If you have no experience, it’s NOT the first thing you should tackle. (You should at least know how to slice up a picture and make a theme from the slices.) There are tutorial sites for making WP themes.
