Anyone knows how to upload new template to the wordpress.com site?

Unfortunately you cannot upload your own themes or make modifications to existing ones on WordPress.com if you need to do it you have to get hosting and install WordPress there.
Good luck.

Featured Content Gallery wont work on my eDegree wordpress themes. Please help.

still can’t find solution to work FCG on my eDegree wordpress themes. what must i do?

thanks in advance.

You need to do is edit the file "functions.js" located in /wp-content/themes/edegree/js/. Should be able to get their through the Apperance->Editor in back office of WordPress.

On the second line you’ll see:

jQuery.noConflict();

Change it to this:

//jQuery.noConflict();

How can I code wordpress?

I am starting up a wordpress design site for fansites, but I am clueless on how to code, and I need sidebars and footers that are made on photoshop. Can someone please help?

You’ll have to learn programming first – that will take about 6 months for the basics. http://www-old.oberon.ethz.ch/WirthPubl/AD.pdf Then you’ll have to learn PHP, but once you know programming, that’s simple.

WordPress design capabilities – is this design possible?

I’m toying with the idea of creating an affiliate marketing website/blog using wordpress. I really like some of the magazine style themes, especially the MagPress theme. What I would like to know is whether or not it is possible to create half static/half blog pages within WordPress? I know you can do both individually, but can you do both on the same page. I’ll give an example of what I am looking for.

I want a homepage in which the top half is "static" in that it never changes, while about midway down its sectioned off into different categories of blog posts showing new posts and featured posts. I would also like a menu bar that had about 5-7 different items (5-7 different products) and on each one of those pages have the same half static/half blog aspect as well. That way I could advertise the product at the top, then below use some type of autoblogging plugin that constantly changes the posts with new posts about the individual products, mainly so visitors can get different reviews of the products. Is this possible?

I know for a fact you can do this with the Headway Theme for WordPress but it costs money and has a bit of a learning curve. I am not sure if any free themes offer this.

How to style posts on a WordPress blog?

I have a self hosted wordpress blog and am using a very simple theme that I created, and I would REALLY appreciate it if someone with more experience w/ WordPress could take a second to help me out…

I’ll just give all the info and then hopefully someone could shed some light on this for me because as simple as it may be, I am extremely confused and frustrated lol…

First off, my blog is located at: http://ryancallahan.com/blog/

And here is the format (pretty simple) that I am trying to get my posts to appear in upon being published:

DATE
-Format – April 10, 2010
-Font – Arial, Helevetica, Sans-Serif
-Font Size – 10pt
-Font Color – #696969

POST
-Font – Arial, Helevetica, Sans-Serif
-Font Size – 10pt
-Font Color – #ffffff

That’s it, that’s the only content from each post that I’d like to appear on my blog…and then have a div that i already uploaded to my current theme’s images folder that I want to appear in between each post (the divider i want is located at: http://www.ryancallahan.com/blog/wp-content/themes/default/images/blogdiv.jpg)

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE TO ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP ME ACHIEVE THIS!

That’s actually easy, as long as you:

a) know CSS;
b) know a little about date controls in PHP
c) know your way around WP themes.

I am sure there are hundreds of tutorials available on the net. Even in the WordPress Codex too.

Your styles (font, size, colour) can be done with CSS. You just need to assign your post with a certain CSS class when you make your template. The date can be done with PHP (which is the basis of WP and its templates). Your only task is to learn your way around a WP template. Have a look at the Codex and then practice on the default themes. I’m sure you’ll find your way.

where do i edit html in wordpress?

I am trying to edit a word press theme, mainly the nav bar but i don’t know where to look for the ul and li items for the list. grateful for any help.

There are many ways to do it. But if you are in wordpress.com, you can’t edit the theme unless you pay css upgrade.

If you are in selfhosted wordpress (wordpress.org) you can do it by: Admin dashboard/Appearance/Editor, look for style.css, but backup your theme first before changing something.

Question on Word Press Themes and Blogging?

What are some of the best WordPress themes to buy…are there any with tables?

Any thoughts on Thesis?

Can you make them look like a regular website?
Thanks!

You can make wordpress theme to look like a regular website if you know how. I would not go for Thesis as it is a bit complicated to customize if you are beginner.

Default theme of wordpress 3.0 is looking nice and very very easy to customize.
