Typepad, Blogger, and Wordpress. Oh my!?
I want to start a blog. a style blog specifically. seaofshoes.com is my inspiration…now i know i want an email address with my blogs name..as well as the domain name…i know that typepad, blogger and wordpress all offer packages..right? i just want to know what you suggest to use for a blog…i don’t really like blogger because it’s extremely limiting and all blogs look the same on blogger…idk about wordpress because i’ve never read any blogs on wordpress.
basically. i need help. loads. i’m technologically challenged but having this blog is completely necessary. and yes i’m willing to pay for the domain name but i have a $20 a month budget..any suggestions are welcome.
with typepad would you get a domain and an email address? is finding a layout difficult? which site makes it easiest to custom design a layout?
Shouldn’t cost all that much; my hosting account runs $10 a month for five domains, and the domain renewals run about $10 each a year.
Jane Aldridge (I’ve linked to her once or twice) is running Typepad; she used to be on Blogger.
I’m a WordPress partisan myself. One advantage of WordPress is that there are literally thousands of theme templates out there, most of which will cost you nothing; however, tailoring them to look exactly the way you want may take a little effort. (Note that if you opt for a freebie from WordPress.com, your options will be more limited.)
